Report: Patrick Corbin Turns Down $170M Offer From Blue Jays; Doesn’t Want To Apply For Passport

Sources close to THR have indicated that prized left-handed starting pitcher Patrick Corbin has turned down a 7-year, $170M offer from the Toronto Blue Jays.

Corbin, 29, was said to have been close to accepting the offer before realizing that a move to Toronto would require him to go through the process of obtaining a passport.

The Blue Jays are desperate to stabilize their rotation, and adding Corbin would be an enormous boost. They’re also said to be in on free-agents Yusei Kikuchi and Dallas Keuchel, both of whom can legally travel to Canada.

It is unknown why Corbin went 29 years without one. His representatives declined comment when our reporter reached out.

More to come.
